Mission Statement:

The mission of the Office of New Initiatives is to transform Baltimore City Public Schools through the creation of innovative, high quality schools and management of strategic reform initiatives.

What We Do:

We work closely with Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Academic Officer (CAO), and CEO Cabinet in the planning and analysis for successful school creation, and we serve as a member of the cross functional leadership team implementing systemic reform. The Office of New Initiatives oversees the application process and start up of all new Baltimore City public schools – charter, contract, and Transformation Schools. In addition, the Office manages cross-departmental work to incubate new initiatives and provide support for systemic reform priorities.
