Grade 8
Eighth grade students who have not passed one or more of the functional tests are given the remediation they need. In addition, all students continue to develop their reading and writing skills. In mathematics, students may take either Algebra I or a course that prepares them for Algebra I and geometry in high school. Science at this level includes study of cells, heredity, earthquakes, forces, motion, and electricity and prepares students for high school science.
