Plans and implements an instructional program and provides related educational services for students in a skills based learning environment. Manages student behavior, assesses and evaluates student achievement, and modifies instructional activities as required; carries out a variety of student monitoring and control activities; performs related duties as required or assigned. Experienced and eligible for industry certification in skill-based occupations, such as cosmetology, CISCO, CADD, and plumbing which help students develop those same skills for transition into an occupation.
Qualified applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education with concentration in specialty area>
- Valid Standard professional teaching certificate or appropriate industry certification
- Valid industry license or certifications
- Experience in relevant industry in a position and/or master level as relevant to career education field
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Knowledge of federal laws protecting the educational services for students with disabilities
- Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty to which assigned
- Knowledge of school’s program of studies related to assignments and mission, goals, and organization
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Excellent human relations skills
- Ability to select instructional planning, management, and evaluation procedures that relate to students needs and the demands of the instructional environment
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Ability to plan and implement lessons based on District and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents
- Knowledge of adolescent growth and development
- Ability to move about in room to check student work and monitor behavior P.A. #112-08
