POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Chief Executive Officer, Baltimore City Public School System, is seeking individuals meeting the minimum qualifications for the following position:


SCHOOL POLICE OFFICER II
($20.32-$25.91 hourly)

Under the leadership of the School Police Sergeant, the School Police Officer II enforces the laws, rules and regulations.  Maintains order at and in the vicinity of school system buildings and grounds and participates in specialized unit activities as instructed.  The School Police Officer II will be patrolling a designated area to preserve peace & prevent criminal activity.  Enforce Maryland vehicle laws, enforce parking regulations, conduct preliminary criminal investigations, gather evidence effecting arrests and testify in court.

Qualified applicants must possess the following:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Maryland Class C Non-commercial Drivers' License or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • Must successfully complete entry-level police officer training as certified by the Maryland Police Training Commission (MPTC) and current certification by MPTC as a Police Officer vested with full authority under the Annotated Code of Maryland.
  • Must successfully complete field training as determined by the BCPSS Chief of School Police.
  • Must authorize release of prior employment, credit history, and criminal conviction information.
  • Must pass a Psychological Background Investigation, medical examination screening, and polygraph examination.

  • Must provide a copy of Drivers License as requested above
