From the Desk of Mrs. Farmer
We are very close to the end of the third quarter. This is a “make or break” time for our students. Spring Break is less than 2 weeks away, and after the break, we are in the 4th quarter. Those students who have been doing satisfactorily or better in their classes need to continue their efforts to maintain or even improve their grades. It is critical, however, for those students who are not passing one or more of their classes to step up their efforts. It is not too late to pass all classes. Teachers are available and willing to provide assistance, but students must demonstrate their willingness to make significant effort to “catch up.” All members of the Heritage community are committed to helping all of our students to succeed
Aside from their daily classes, students in various grades must be aware of other tests and activities occurring during the 4th quarter:
· 9th graders will be taking the Algebra I HSA near the end of May
· 10th graders will be taking the Biology I and the English II HSAs at the same time
· 11th graders will be taking the SAT on Saturday, May 4
We are also continuing to pay close attention to our seniors and their progress toward successfully completing all of the requirements for a diploma and for participation in the Commencement ceremony on June 1, 2013. Members of our Senior Committee have been conferring with seniors and their parents regarding areas that need attention before it is too late to be successful. Our goal is for 100% of our seniors to receive a diploma and participate in the actual ceremony.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school. There needs to be a school, parent, and community team effort to ensure the success of all of our students.
